HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Logan's first Halloween was a success! The weather was perfect, the kids around the neighborhood were cute and Logan was so adorable in his monkey costume. We had a steady flow of kids for about two and a half hours and went through about 20 bags of candy! Keith invited a family over who has a baby girl that is 4 months old, Logan had a good time making a new friend. As I type this he is fast asleep in the swing, it was an eventful afternoon!

Waiting to give out candy.

Selby & Logan

Logan is very entertained by Selby and will watch him until Selby is out of sight. Selby on the other hand stays an arms length away. The place they both can come together is looking out the sliding glass door.
This weekend the kids across the street were outside riding their bikes and running through the yards. They caught the attention of both Logan and Selby.
Here are some cute pictures...

Poo

Ok, I debated on whether or not to write about Logan's poo but I decided that those who know me well know I seem to talk about poo more than someone should probably talk about poo. Yes, this week we started veggies so I knew things were going to change put I just wasn't prepared! Logan no longer has infant dirty diapers he has baby dirty diapers. As odd as this sounds I feel sappy about it, he's growing so fast and his poo is another milestone.
Even though I dare to talk about poo I draw the line at pictures... haha... now that would be gross! Instead I will close with pictures of my cutie pie when we were hanging out last night.

Squish Squash (dad's first blog)

So today we decided to try out a vegetable to see how Logan would react.  Our first choice, organic butternut squash from our veggie share.  After being steamed until nice and squishy we tossed it in the blender and frappé!  It was surprisingly easy and pretty quick from start to finish.  And much to our delight he took an instant liking to it.  We were expecting at least some strange looks from a "what is in my mouth" kind of moment, but instead, we got the usual blank "feed me" stare.  Which we suppose is much better than the "oh my god, get this away from me!" scream and subsequent freak out, which we haven't had yet, and fear.  So, our calender is marked, today Logan has his first taste of vegetables, and he continues to grow rapidly, without any signs of stopping.

Pumpkin Patch

I never had much of a desire to go to a Pumpkin Patch until Logan came along. We went on a Friday evening while Jessie, Keith's sister, was visiting. The weather was beautiful and the farm wasn't crowded at all.
This farm not only had pumpkins but it had a corn maze! I was a little worried about getting lost in the maze with Logan but once we started I realized it wasn't that intense!
Here's where we started the maze. Note Jessie's enthusiasm.

Keith took some pictures as we walked the maze.

Keith is always looking for a great photo opportunity.
We also shopped the pumpkins...

...and took the necessary ' baby with pumpkin' pictures! These make me laugh out loud, I don't think Logan liked the feel of the hay on the ground!
Then we took some family pictures...
Next year Logan will be chasing the chickens!

Logan is 5 months old!

Where does the time go?! Logan is 5 months old now. He is growing so fast. As of today, some of the things he can do are in no particular order...
- roll over to each side from his tummy to his back
- make lots of noises, including screaming!
- sit up by himself
- hold the spoon as I feed him cereal
- reach for everything
- grab anything and put it in his mouth
- grab his toes
- turn around in his exer-saucer
- smile at everyone who smiles at him :)
I am sure there are more but i only have a short time to type as he plays.
Every month Keith and I have been taking a picture to document his growth. We took some cute ones last night to mark the occasion. Take a look!

Logan figured out how to sit up in his chair and was trying to get the toys in his mouth! If you are wondering what his PJs say it is " Daddy's little Sly Guy"
When Keith got home from school, Logan was showing him his new skill and that is how he ended up!

@ 5 months, this is the new way he likes to suck on his fingers.

Hard to believe but Logan & Selby almost weigh the same!

1st visit to the Park

We had warm weather this weekend and took Logan on his first trip to the Park. We have a nice sized park and the end of our street that has swings so I thought we would give it a try. Logan actually really liked the swings! He started out sitting back as I pushed him slowly.

Then he figured out how to pull himself forward and finished his time on the swing like that. He seemed to really enjoy it!

And then Keith took him down the slide... he had no expression on his face. Maybe we will try again in a few months.

Down the hall

So, we moved Logan to his own room yesterday. His crib has been in our room since Day 1. It was probably a harder transition for me than Logan or Keith. I was so nervous about him not being an arms reach away but we decided he was ready for his own space. Logan did pretty well, he still wakes up a couple times during the night and we go in and help him fall back asleep.
We are still decorating so when we are done I will take some pictures to share.
Here's hoping night #2 goes well. ;)
