I had to write this one down...
We went to the park this morning and played. The boys are enjoying the cooler weather and we had a fun time exploring a new play set.
When we were leaving Logan picked up a pine cone and asked to take it home. I said sure and we went to the car. We made a stop at the grocery store and he left it in the car while we shopped. When we made it back to the van and I was putting him in his carseat I said "Oh, here's your pine cone!" And Logan said " Oh, yeah." And then put it up to his ear and says "Hi Grandma, hi".
I smiled so big and said "Buddy it's Pine Cone not Pine phone."
Love it!

French Toast Friday
The boys and I have started a new Friday tradition. French toast for breakfast! It seems a little silly but it helps us kick off the weekend. Weekends have become even more special for us with Keith traveling most of the week.
I enjoy having little special traditions of our own. Keeps the everyday things more fun!

Everett's first haircut!
On Monday, September 3rd, Everett had his first haircut! He did such a good job! He laughed, danced and wasn't concerned at all. Logan got a haircut too and laughed at Everett in the chair, it was cute. Plus, Logan got to have his first lollipop! And after everything was done Everett thought he'd help out and sweep the floor. Ha!
After dinner
Some evening feel magical. The boys and I had an early dinner so we went outside to play for awhile. We went for a walk in the neighborhood and they both walked almost entire time! Logan ran ahead and then would run back to walk with his brother. He stopped and would say "Hold Mommy's hand to cross the street." Then they decided they needed some water and relaxed in the stroller while we cruised home. To cool down we had watermelon and chatted with Daddy. There were giggles, rosie cheeks and happy babies. What more could you ask for on a warm Thursday evening.

Me, Myself & I
Ok, it seems odd to post a picture of me in the dressing room but... I wanted to mark down the day I fit into jeans and felt awesome! I have been exercising everyday, how could I not with 2 toddlers around, and making healthy food choices.I didn't know it was going to be so rewarding to buy new jeans!
I saw Old Navy was having a jean sale this week. So, while we were out and the boys were napping in the car I decided to run in and try on a pair. I took in a few pairs and never thought it would go so smooth.
I wrote this to remind myself how good I feel when I exercise and take care of myself. As a Mom your instinct is to take care of everyone else but there is nothing wrong with making time to take care of yourself. I have learned that taking care of myself has made me a happier more energetic patient person.

Motherhood
At the end of June my parents went back to Indianapolis and Keith's new career had him leaving for most of the week.
I will be honest I was nervous about being a single parent for 5 days in a row. How would I make every meal? Run errands? Could I keep the boys entertained? Oh, and bedtime... I didn't want to think too much about that one.
And then we were alone and we were fine. More then fine, we are happy together. We laugh a lot and we cry too. Logan has grown as a big brother. Learning to help Everett and to be patient. Everett grew more independent and loves his brothers attention. They talk and play as brothers and it's so sweet. They disagree but that is learning to be in a family.
I have grown as a Mom. I learned to push myself, to try new adventures as a trio, and that it's ok to if everything doesn't go as planned. I can handle it. I am more confident as a mother and a women; my boys helped me find this happy place.
I have honestly never been this content. There is no better company then my two boys.

L
This little guy is the sweetest big brother Everett could ask for.
He is such a cutie! He is talking all the time, repeats what we say and repeats books while we read them. He knows the abc's, colors and shapes. He knows all of our full names. He loves Elmo! He loves to run and ride his bike. Since the Olympics he wants to play Volleyball. He helps his brother with things. He sings all day. He loves cars and trucks. He helps me clean up. He runs to the door when Keith comes home. He makes sure that Keith says hello to mommy and baby. He has the brightest smile and gives the sweetest hugs and kisses.
Yes, I know how lucky I am and I try to live in the moment everyday with these boys.
I don't want to forget...
I want to remember all these funny, silly, adorable things that Everett is doing right now.
He likes to ...
-walk around and rub his belly button
-he says 'yeah' with a big smile to most questions we ask
-he loves dogs! he says 'woof, woof' and spots a dog on our morning walks a mile away
-he gets into EVERYTHING
-he watches Logan very closely and wants to play with whatever he is playing with
-he dances as soon as he hears a tune
-he can push any button he sees
-he can bring us a book if you tell him which one
-he has his favorite books that he can find on the bookshelf
-he likes Elmo
-he likes Selby
-he loves to give kisses to mommy, daddy and logan
-when he's tired he puts his head down on our chests
-and he puts himself to sleep
I love watching Everett grow into a toddler, he is an amazing little boy!

Everett
Well our Everett is one year old! I know, I can and can't believe it. To celebrate we took a family trip to the zoo! Logan and Everett loved it so much the week before they thought Daddy needed to see the animals too. We had a great hot summer day together. Seeing the bright smiles on their faces, being all together, it's days like these I would freeze in time.
We came home and did the birthday routine, presents and cake. Logan helped Everett open his gifts and also showed him how to play with the new toys. ;)
This little boy, our Everett, has been a light in our lives since the day we found out he would be joining our family.
